A useful fit for

A plausible document-based candidate for an indoor or outdoor location that needs two separately switched sockets and has loads that stay within the 10 A per-socket and 15 A combined limits.

The main tradeoff

The socket covers and IP44 rating do not make the plug submersible or suitable for conditions beyond its instructions. Meross does not publish a motor horsepower or named load-class limit here. The model body is wider than a mini plug, and the short lead can constrain placement.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the two sockets be switched independently?

Yes. The exact MSS620 US page describes individual control for both AC sockets. They still share one 15 A maximum, and a single socket is capped at 10 A; two outlets do not create two separate circuits.

Does a 15 A whole-device ceiling allow a 15 A appliance on one socket?

No. The exact original MSS620 US specification separates a 15 A maximum for the plug from a 10 A maximum for one socket. A single appliance above 10 A is outside that per-socket limit even when the other outlet is unused.

Where are weekly schedules and auto-off timers documented?

Meross describes schedules and auto-off timers for this exact model, with routine examples in its app guidance. Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings are listed integrations, but equivalent schedule and timer controls inside each third-party app are not established.

The original Meross MSS620 US is a corded indoor/outdoor smart plug with two AC outlets in one body. It should be kept separate from the newer MSS620B and MSS620BHK routes: the exact MSS620 US page publishes a 10 A maximum for a single socket, a detail that must not be carried over to a B/BHK edition. This review uses the US model page and the matching MSS620(US) English manual; it does not claim a retail SKU or current seller stock for the unsuffixed route.

Two controls, one device ceiling

Meross describes individual on/off control for the two sockets. Its electrical table lists 15 A maximum for the plug and 10 A maximum for one socket. Those numbers answer different questions: no single outlet should be treated as a 15 A connection, and the two outlets together remain subject to the 15 A device maximum. The source does not give a separate watt ceiling for an individual outlet, a motor horsepower rating, or a named general/resistive load class. A current rating alone is not permission for any pump, appliance, or unattended motor; check the load's label and the exact instructions. The corded shape can be useful when a wall receptacle needs to reach two loads without using a strip. The US page lists a body of 5.1 by 2.6 by 1.5 inches, excluding a 7.5-inch lead. The body dimensions do not include the attached cable's route, outlet covers, connected plugs, or clearance behind furniture. Measure all of those at the installation point. Its two outlets are in one enclosure and share the same device, so the listing is not equivalent to two independent smart plugs.

IP44 needs careful placement

Meross identifies the exact MSS620 US as an indoor/outdoor plug with IP44 housing. That supports considering ordinary damp-location use within its instructions; it does not mean submersible, flood-proof, or safe in every exposed position. Check that the plug and receptacle are installed as directed and that the covers, cable, and connected equipment are appropriate for the location. The MSS620BHK store page has separate claims and cautions; none are assumed here for this original MSS620 route. The exact page lists an operating range from 14°F to 104°F and 10%–90% non-condensing humidity. Those are manufacturer environmental limits, not a promise that a particular location remains dry or protected. Outdoor equipment should be evaluated with the appliance's own weather and electrical instructions too.

App schedules and platform control are separate questions

The MSS620 US page names Apple Home, Alexa, Google Assistant, and SmartThings, plus Meross-app control over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Meross documents on/off schedules and auto-off timers for this model; its app routine guidance explains recurring schedule examples. The available documentation does not establish that each third-party app exposes the same timers or schedule editor. The model is not presented as a Matter device, and the sources checked do not establish energy monitoring, Away Mode, or Meross-app control after internet loss. For Apple Home remote access, a compatible Apple home hub may be required even though the product page lists HomeKit compatibility. The product page says no hub is needed for its listed setup, but that is not the same as promising remote access without an Apple hub. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz, and the page says enterprise networks are unsupported. Check router compatibility and app requirements before treating a platform badge as an installation guarantee.

Check the exact model before ordering

The official technical route and its English manual identify “MSS620 US.” The official store page discovered during the research pass identifies MSS620BHK US/CA, which is a different suffix and edition. A store or marketplace result with a similar two-socket shape is not enough to establish that it is the original MSS620 or that its ratings match. Verify the model string, voltage market, package contents, seller, and return terms on any listing. This model is most relevant when a documented outdoor-rated, two-socket form factor and separate switching are useful, with loads at or below 10 A per socket and 15 A combined. It is a poor choice for a buyer who needs a verified motor rating, higher single-socket current, an immersion-rated device, or proof of third-party routine parity. This assessment is based on manufacturer documentation, not physical inspection, a load test, weather exposure, or ownership.
