A useful fit for

A plausible fit for one dry indoor outlet where a single US Wi-Fi plug, one of the listed smart-home routes and Meross-app schedules or countdown-off matter more than energy reporting or Matter documentation.

The main tradeoff

It has one controlled receptacle, no energy monitor and no documented motor horsepower or special load class. The 15 A / 1,800 W limits are per plug and do not approve every appliance at those ceilings; verify the nameplate and exact instructions. The body dimensions are not neighboring-outlet clearance measurements.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the MSS110 US/JP fit when I want a compact plug that may share a duplex outlet?

Meross calls it compact and lists a 2.7 × 1.5 × 1.5 in body, but its manual does not promise clearance for every wall plate or adjacent cord. It controls one outlet; compare the body with the actual plate, neighboring plug and furniture before relying on a stacked arrangement.

Does this single plug document energy monitoring or a motor limit?

No energy meter is listed, and the checked US/JP sources give no motor horsepower or special load class. The 15 A / 1,800 W US maximum is not a substitute for a motor rating; choose a plug with an explicit compatible motor limit if the appliance motor makes that condition essential.

Can it run an on/off routine and countdown in my preferred app?

Meross documents schedules and auto-off/countdown in its own app, and the exact MSS110 US/JP route lists Apple Home, Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings integrations. The routine feature is not proof that each third-party app offers identical scheduling, and Apple Home remote access requires the appropriate home hub.

This is a document-based assessment of the Meross MSS110 US/JP smart plug mini. Meross describes a small, single-outlet Wi-Fi plug and lists separate electrical specifications for the United States and Japan. This review uses only the US values. It is not a report of hands-on use, electrical testing, HomeKit pairing, or performance measurements.

One outlet, one plug, and a clearly bounded indoor job

The exact English MSS110 manual lists one Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini and one user manual in the package. The product has one controlled AC receptacle. It is not a two-outlet adapter, a power strip, a dimmer, or an energy-monitoring plug. The listing calls its body compact and says two plugs can be stacked at an outlet; treat that as a design claim, not a fit guarantee for every duplex receptacle, plate, cord, or neighboring wall plug.

Meross lists the US body at 2.7 × 1.5 × 1.5 inches (width × depth × height), excluding the plug pins. Those measurements describe the product body, not the clearance needed around it. Check the orientation of your outlet, the adjacent receptacle, any bulky transformer already in use, and the route a cord must take before buying. The product image shows one mini plug, but a clean product render cannot reveal how it will sit next to your own wall plate.

Use the US rating, not the neighboring regional edition

The family page distinguishes the US edition at 120 V, 60 Hz from the Japan edition at 100 V, 50/60 Hz. For the US configuration, Meross states a maximum of 15 A and 1,800 W. The one-plug package does not multiply that ceiling, and the listed numbers do not establish that every device at either limit is appropriate. Read the appliance nameplate and the exact instructions, account for the complete connected load, and leave the finder’s load class and motor requirements open unless the manufacturer has documented the needed class for this exact model.

No motor horsepower rating or special supported-load class appears in the checked MSS110 US/JP material. That matters more than a generic current figure when a fan, compressor, pump, or other motor is involved: this assessment cannot establish that such a load is within the plug’s rating. The matcher therefore does not treat the plug’s 15 A / 1,800 W maximum as proof of motor suitability. If a motor rating is essential, use a model with a published rating that covers the appliance and follow its instructions.

The manual recommends use indoors in a dry location only. It does not establish an outdoor rating, weather sealing, or permission to place the plug where it can get wet. Keep the product in its documented environment rather than interpreting “smart plug” as an all-purpose outdoor switch.

Wi-Fi and app routes are not the same as a Matter device

The US/JP product page specifies 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and names Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and SmartThings among its integrations. It also says ordinary Meross app control uses the Wi-Fi already in the home without a separate Meross hub. The reviewed material does not establish Matter support for this edition, so a shopper specifically seeking a Matter plug should not infer it from the fact that the device works with several smart-home platforms.

Meross documents on/off scheduling and auto-off timers in its app; its routine help page gives weekday and weekend schedule examples and explains countdown-off. This supports a useful basic routine when you already use the Meross app. It does not prove that every named third-party app offers the same schedule editor, that an Apple Home automation behaves identically, or that you can control the plug from an app after an internet outage. Meross says routines can continue to run during an internet interruption, but that is not the same claim as interactive local control. For Apple Home remote access, plan for the HomeKit home-hub requirement and keep that hub online.

How it differs from the MSS110HK four-pack

Meross also lists an MSS110HK US/CA four-pack with its own store suffix and package image. That is a different retail identity from the MSS110 US/JP one-plug route assessed here. The global MSS110 product page and manual establish a one-plug package, while the official store sitemap lists an MSS110 US/CA offer. The linked store item did not load in this research pass, so no separate seller SKU or live stock claim is made for this bare MSS110 route. Check the carton and selected product details for the exact model suffix and region rather than treating every MSS110 title as the same box.

What this assessment can and cannot settle

The MSS110 is a plausible fit when you need one indoor Wi-Fi-controlled outlet, already use one of the listed integrations, and want a Meross-app schedule or countdown. Its modest body dimensions and the one-plug package make the model worth comparing when a single outlet is enough. Its documented limits are also decisive: no energy monitoring, no stated motor horsepower, no confirmed special load class, and no evidence here that it is an outdoor or Matter plug.

Do not select it because “15 A” appears to cover every appliance. Compare the exact model and regional label, electrical nameplate, motor requirements, plug-body measurements, Wi-Fi band, controller needs, and the routine you expect to use. No field in this assessment approves wiring, load type, receptacle condition, or physical clearance. If the offer you are considering is actually the MSS110HK four-pack or a different regional edition, return to that exact configuration’s own assessment before deciding.
